Some (Probably Wrong) Thoughts on Amazon-Like Delivery Systems

I got a call from a member last week who had heard about a group of builders who were creating their own co-op to supply materials. They were going to use technology and create an Amazon-like company that would cut out the middle-man and drop-ship loads of materials seven to 10 days from the order date.

Two Pre-Conference Courses Available at CSA Conference & Expo

CSA will offer two pre-conference workshops just before the Annual Conference in Savannah. Both courses will be offered at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa.

Advanced Estimating Workshop
The Advanced Estimating Workshop is a new course designed to provide a better understanding of residential framing, as well as to increase efficiency in completing material estimates. This class will go beyond basic house design and focus on the difficult areas of completing framing take-offs.

Who should attend? Personnel familiar with residential construction methods and fundamental material take-off concepts.

DOT, Safety & Alcohol Training
This workshop addresses topics such as reasonable suspicion, drug and alcohol compliance, as well as safety and accountability. Learn proper truck inspection procedure, record-keeping requirements, and strategies for driver retention.  Review samples of employee injury and illness programs, and suggestions for implementing these protocols to ensure you are in compliance.
