CSA's Insight Meetings were so successful in
2011, that we've added new dates throughout Georgia and Alabama for 2012. Locations will be added soon but in the meantime,
save-the-date for the location nearest you!
March 8, 2012
11:30
a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Hilton Garden Inn, Albany, GA
Sponsored by: Federated Insurance
This meeting will be the last to discuss Georgia's immigration law and CSA2010. A 30-minute
Georgia immigration law presentation will explain the E-verify process, common errors found on I-9 forms and more! This
law will impact every company at one time or another that is looking to hire new employees. Attendees will also learn
about the Compliance Safety and Accountability program, CSA2010. Has your company taken the proper measures to ensure
compliance with CSA2010? If not, this 30-minute discussion will address what CSA2010 is; provide an overview of CSA’s
four points, including CSA’s measurement system; intervention; safety evaluation - a determination of the company’s
or driver’s fitness to continue operating; and COMPASS, a program used between federal and states to accumulate and
monitor carriers and drivers in addition to the CSA program.

Red Flags That Alert OSHA to Your Company & Deem It “Unsafe”
Since the economic downturn, it seems that regulations and audits are being conducted more frequently. Perhaps
this is coincidence, but it never hurts to be prepared and to learn what OSHA is looking for and how to keep your employees
and company safe from workers’ comp claims, costly fines, citations, and in the worse case scenario, being shut down.
With over 35 years of experience, CSA’s Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Larry Marler, will be speaking
to attendees about the most common OSHA violations companies are cited for.
For instance, do you know when
personal protection equipment (PPE) is required? Whose responsible for wearing PPE and when should they wear it?
What about the right and wrong way to guard machines to prevent hazards? Which equipment needs to follow lockout-tagout
procedures? How do you properly install and maintain lockout-tagout equipment? How often should forklift training
be done? Who needs to have forklift training and how do you conduct it? How do you comply with means of egress?
Do you have proper safety measures in place and training to ensure that employees understand the importance of this?
When, how and where do you store flammable products? Are your handrails, wall-guards, stairwells and docks free from
tripping hazards? How do you properly train and document hazardous communication training? Are you documenting,
posting and maintaining records for important safety issues?
Who
should attend this Insight Meeting? Management and designated safety personnel
Attendees will have an opportunity
to learn about all of these topics, receive handouts and ask Larry questions about material covered. During this time,
Larry can also arrange to conduct an audit of your location, a service provided free of charge to CSA members.
